| Half-Day Preschool Program |
The Worcester Public Schools offers a half-day preschool program for children who will be four years old by December 31st.
The preschool program provides a developmental curriculum in an inclusive environment. The classrooms include
children who are typically developing and children who have special needs. All classrooms are staffed by a MA certified
early childhood teacher and an instructional assistant.

When registering your child for Preschool please bring: Proof of your child’s date of birth
- A current list of your child’s immunizations
- Proof that your child has been tested for lead paint poisoning
- Proof of residency (utility bill, rent receipt, driver’s license)

Note: Children must reside in Worcester and be four years old by December 31st
to qualify for admission into the Worcester Public School preschool program.

| Kindergarten Program |
The Worcester Public Schools offers a full day Kindergarten program in all elementary schools. The classrooms are staffed
by MA certified teachers and most classrooms have an instructional assistant. All classrooms are inclusive
combining typically developing and special needs children. The curriculum is developmentally appropriate and addresses personal
and social skills, language and literacy, mathematical and scientific thinking, the arts, health and social studies.
Children are eligible to enter Kindergarten if they reside in Worcester and are five years old by December 31st.
Registration for Kindergarten begins in January. Registrations are accepted at the Parent Information Center
at 768 Main Street, Worcester MA 01610.
Proof of the child’s birth date, documentation of lead paint poisoning and current immunizations, and proof of
Worcester residency (rent receipt or driver’s license or utility bill) must be provided at the time of registration.
Also, if your child's 1st language Not English, please bring your child to be tested.

| National Association for the Education of Young Children Accreditation |
NAEYC
The National Academy of Early Childhood Programs is an independent accrediting system sponsored by the National
Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). NAEYC is the nation’s largest organization of early childhood
professionals. Accredited programs demonstrate a commitment to providing high quality programs for young children and
their families. Emphasis is placed on the quality of interaction among teachers and children and the developmental
appropriateness of the curriculum. Health and safety, staffing, staff qualifications, physical environment, and
administration are all reviewed during the accreditation process. Primary consideration is given to the nature of
the child’s experience. Below is a list of schools whose preschool and kindergarten classrooms are currently accredited
or in the self-study process.

| Worcester Community Partnership for Children |
The Worcester Community Partnership for Children is a Massachusetts Department of Early
Education and Care grant program which is a collaborative of the Worcester Public Schools,
Head Start and Private Providers.
The grant provides quality early childhood programs and services for three and four year
old children of working families in a variety of full and part time year round settings.
Families who meet the eligibility criteria and reside in Worcester may qualify for financial assistance.
