Channel 11 is Worcester's public education station, available to all Worcester
residents.
This channel is the home of all Worcester Public Schools programming. Channel
11 also cablecasts programming produced outside of the city from various sources.
This programming is targeted to the community at large to meet the educational
and informational needs of the residents of the city of Worcester

Channel 11 has been bringing Worcester residents school related
entertainment and information since 1978. Originally housed at
South High Community School, Channel 11 made the trip across town
and set up its studio at the new Worcester Technical High School
when it opened its doors for the first time in the Fall of 2006.
It was a match made in heaven. The Educational Access Channel has
thrived in its new environment, updating both equipment and the
studio, rocketing the station into the 21st century.
Currently, Channel 11 produces and televises Homework Hotline, a
live, 1 hour call in program, 3 days a week. Subjects
deal with math and English, with lessons presented by local teachers,
and students are encouraged to call in with questions. The show
continues to be an overwhelming viewer favorite.
In addition, the station produces, shoots, and edits school plays,
musicals, and other special events for telecast on Channel 11.
Spring is in the Air, WPS’ showcase musical featuring
the best of Worcester’s high school students performing at the
prestigious Mechanics Hall, and the 5 Worcester High School graduations,
have become eagerly anticipated productions. Channel 11 also tapes
educational seminars and workshops, both for original telecasts
and archival reference video. Worcester School Committee meetings
are replayed on Channel 11 on the weekends following the meetings.
